With the advent of summer and our exciting summer hosting promos, the sales for the new gTLDs witnessed a 65% spike in total counts compared to the previous month, which was a massive leap. .XYZ, retained its top spot in May with a 91% increase in its overall sales. .TOP continued to secure the second spot among the trending new gTLDs with a relatively modest 18% jump in its sales. The trending gTLDs in the top 5 list for the month remained the same, with a few of them swapping their positions.
Here’s a precise summary of the top 15 domain extensions for May:

.XYZ – Proving to be one of the undefeated gTLDs for the past few months, .XYZ was again able to boost its overall registrations by grabbing a 78% of the total share of new gTLDs registered. With a promo price of $0.99 and its exceptional performance, .XYZ has had a major impact on the trending new gTLDs list.
.TOP – Following its trend of securing the second place, this gTLD has been growing remarkably. .TOP was able to grab a 10% share of the total counts of the new gTLD sold. .TOP was running at a promo price of $0.99 which helped drive its sales in May.
.ONLINE – Shuffling between the third and fourth position for a few months now, .ONLINE was able to secure the third spot this time. Though there was a 6% decrease in its sales compared to the previous month, this Radix gTLD was able to grab 2% of the total share. .ONLINE was running at a promo price of $6.99
.SITE – Leaving behind its fifth spot, .SITE was able to surpass .SPACE and climb up a rank. This gTLD grabbed a 1.2% of the total share of new gTLD sold. .SITE was at a promo price of $1.99 which resulted in a 35% jump in its sales numbers.
.SPACE – Well the chase among .ONLINE and .SPACE was disrupted with a 49% decrease in the sales of .SPACE that got it to the fifth position for the month of May. This Radix gTLD was at a promo price of $2.99.
With Radix celebrating World Press Freedom month with .PRESS, this gTLD was able to make it to the top 15 list as one of the new entrants along with .HOST and .GLOBAL. Despite being a new entrant .HOST was able to secure the seventh position while .STORE saw a 54% decline in its sales and consequently ended up way below in the list. .GLOBAL was at a promo price of $12.88 which landed the domain extension a spot in the top 15.
