Hey folks, let’s have a look at the new gTLD report for the month of June. I’d like to start off my analysis by saying 2017 has shown us a lot variety in terms of our monthly top 15 new gTLDs so far. 2016, on the contrary, showcased a persistent .XYZ, .TOP in the line-up (.ACCOUNTANT was an exceptional case when moved it to number one for March). Moving on, .FUN has made its debut in this month’s new gTLD report while .XYZ moves to 2nd and .ONLINE to 4th. There are no new entrants this month as you can see in the infographic below:

- .TOP – The domain extension has moved from 2nd to 1st this month owing to the special promo that has been running for May and June. .TOP is priced at just $1.99 $0.89 and has contributed to it taking more than 42% of the new gTLD adds for June
- .XYZ – There hasn’t been a change in the promo pricing for .XYZ since the start of the year ($0.99) at all, but it’s position has witnessed a lot of shifting owing to promos running on various other new gTLDs (We were running a flash sale for China and India from the 25th April to 9th May which lead to it being number one. Another reason for .XYZ to move up two spots as compared to may is the 1.111B .XYZ class of domains that kicked in from the 1st of June. For more information, you can have a look at the video below
- .GDN – Did you know that there are a total of 335,717 .GDN domains registered so far globally (according to ntldstats)? .GDN adds have been moving at a steady pace and the extension continues to be in our top 5 for June as well. Since the start of 2017, .GDN has been running at a special price of just $0.79
- .ONLINE – In March 2017, Radix landed a big one with the sale of casino.online for $201,250. It is considered to be highest paid price for a new gTLD (a one time all-cash sale). .ONLINE has been running at a promo price of $5.99 so far and has taken a percentage share of 3.64 this June
- .NEWS – For the third time in a row, Rightside registry’s domain extensions .NEWS and .LIVE (at number 7) are in our new gTLD report. Globally, .NEWS registrations are at a steady pace with more than 0.25% domain names registered so far. As usual, .NEWS and .LIVE are running at a promo price of $2.99
Since the expiration of the .CLUB promo, its ranking has dropped but continues to be a part of our new gTLD report at position 6. Radix TLDs such as .ONLINE, .SPACE, .STORE, .FUN (new entrant) and .SITE continue to be a part of our monthly reports. .WIN has moved from position 10 to 8 for June and contributes a total of 1.57% of new gTLD adds across all our markets.
